Gastric Botox
Gastric Botox is a minimally invasive weight loss treatment where Botulinum toxin-A is injected into the stomach. The toxin blocks the signals between the stomach and the brain that trigger the feeling of fullness. By blocking these signals, the patient feels full faster and automatically eats less.
The treatment usually takes about 30 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis, so the patient can usually go home on the same day. The effect lasts for about 6-12 months, after which the treatment can be repeated if necessary.
